from 1973), Ranbaxy constantly workso on the development

generics and active
ingredients – wherein it enjoys an international
leadership position – and also research into the
creation of
innovative medicines,
the creation of new delivery systems, original formulations
and new release technologies. An example is an innovative
formulation of an antibiotics , developed by Ranbaxy
and bought by a very important Pharmaceutical company:
it is a modified release, that has improved the pharmacinetic
and pharmadinamic profile of this leader medicine that
cure urinary infections. The pre-eminence reached by
Ranbaxy in the chemical-pharmaceutical research comes
from the combination quality-innovation: it isn’t
by accident that a large percentage of own human resources
works in the research function (around 1100 personnel,
of which half constitutes scientists) and the economic
resources reserved to this sector reach the 7% of Company’s
total sales proceeds, with a estimate of increase until
the 10% in the 2007.
Active ingredients: The extreme competitive
nature of the active ingredients market is interpreted
by Ranbaxy such as a challenge to develop itself. This
philosophy has proved to be successful demonstrated
by
Ranbaxy supplies, active
ingredients, covering a wide area of therapeutical uses,
to
generic pharmaceutical companies
in more than 50 countries. With established relationships
in the United States and Europe, Ranbaxy is also building
it’s presence in China and other Markets in the
Far East and South America, representing global business
in the strictest sense. The aim of this sector, that
represents 12% of the Ranbaxy’s total sales, is
to give extensive range of solutions in the active ingredient’s
sector.
